Greener Energy Group’s Mission to Fight Climate Change: #MakingScotlandGreener 2021
2020 will be remembered for many things, from wild bushfires to the ongoing crisis of the COVID 19 pandemic reminding us of how little control we have over the possibility for our world to be upended in devastating ways. However, we want 2021 to be better, and we want to remember it for some of the amazing things we have done for our planet. The biggest cause of climate change is carbon emissions being emitted from buildings, transport, and agriculture. In Scotland 15% of carbon emissions comes from the way we use fossil fuels to heat our homes. This is why we are so passionate about our carbon-free heating systems and strongly believe that the future is renewable-powered electric.
During the COVID 19 pandemic when the business was forced into closure, we had time to reflect and work on mapping out our vision, mission, and values. Our vision is to lead the Energy Saving market, evolving, and uniting with our clients to reduce co2 emissions, and ensure we create a brighter future for our children, grandchildren, and the future generations. The mission is to assist, advise and demonstrate to clients, the most effective ways to save energy and money, and to grow our client base joining us on our journey to make a difference together in the fight against climate change. We value and respect our clients, and we hold personal accountability for our actions and delivering on our commitments.
We are not alone on our mission, and for good reason! Many countries are planning to go net zero and the ever-reducing cost of renewables is allowing them to plan for this decarbonisation. In October of 2020, the International Energy Agency concluded that the best solar power schemes are now offering the “cheapest source of electricity in history”. Governments are understanding the importance of scaling up renewables such as solar PV and Air Source Heat Pumps in their own economies.
At Greener Energy Group we always want to do more, and so this year we have launched our Plant-a-Tree campaign as part of our mission. By removing Co2 from the atmosphere and locking it up, trees help to stabilise the environment and combat climate change. You can join us today, and with no obligation to purchase, if you receive a formal quotation from us, in return we will plant a tree on your behalf in the Highlands of Scotland. You will also receive a certificate to show that you have joined us in the first stage of Making Scotland Greener!
We chose to team up with the organisation Trees For Life, who share a love of the environment with us, and understand the importance of stabilising our climate through the reduction of Co2. Trees help combat climate change by removing the damaging Co2 from the atmosphere all while providing important habitats for wildlife. Trees for life have already 44 established tree planting sites and have planted almost two million trees! We are so passionate about helping the environment in as many ways as we can and so we are very excited to be teaming up with this excellent organisation, and planting as many trees as possible.
